The “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Nursing” series of academic activities, the Famous Teachers Forum, was held successfully
On the afternoon of April 8, 2025, the 4th "Master Lecture" of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Nursing Alliance" series of academic activities was grandly held in the Boxue Hall on the 15th floor of the Science and Technology Building in the North Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. Professor Shang Shaomei, the dean of the School of Nursing at Peking University, delivered a lecture titled "Interdisciplinary Integration and Innovative Talent Cultivation in Nursing". The event was hosted by Professor Zhang Jun'e, the dean of the School of Nursing at Sun Yat-sen University and the head of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Nursing Alliance. The leaders of the participating universities included Professor Yin Yiqiao, the dean of Macau Mirror Lake Nursing College, Professor Lin Aizhen, the vice dean of the School of Health Sciences and Sports at Macau Polytechnic University, Professor Sun Guiping, the dean of the School of Nursing at Hong Kong East Asia College, Professor Lan Yutao, the dean of the School of Nursing at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, Professor Liao Xiaoyan, the dean of the School of Nursing at Guangzhou Medical University, Professor Shi Lei, the vice dean of the School of Nursing at Southern Medical University, and Professors Zhang Lifeng and Xia Wei, the vice deans of the School of Nursing at Sun Yat-sen University. More than 300 nursing colleagues from Sun Yat-sen University and affiliated hospitals of the alliance universities also attended the lecture.

Professor Shang Shaomei is currently the dean of the School of Nursing at Peking University, a second-level professor, and a doctoral supervisor. She also serves as the chairperson of the Teaching Steering Committee for Nursing Programs of the Ministry of Education, the chairperson of the 28th Council of the Chinese Nursing Association, and the chairperson of the Evidence-Based Nursing Professional Committee. She is the editor-in-chief of the "International Journal of Nursing Sciences" and "Interdisciplinary Nursing Research". Professor Shang Shaomei has made outstanding contributions in the field of interdisciplinary integration and innovative talent cultivation in nursing. She has conducted interdisciplinary research in geriatric nursing and smart health care, as well as symptom care. At this master lecture, Professor Shang shared her cutting-edge thoughts and practical achievements in the field of interdisciplinary integration and innovative talent cultivation in nursing. She first introduced the background of interdisciplinary development in nursing and pointed out that interdisciplinary integration has become an inevitable trend in scientific development, not only promoting the advancement of nursing practice towards precision and personalization, but also serving as an important catalyst for the innovative development of the nursing discipline. She emphasized that under the background of the "Healthy China" strategy, the nursing discipline needs to actively embrace the opportunities of multidisciplinary integration. Then, Professor Shang provided a detailed introduction to the current status of interdisciplinary research in nursing, including: (1) The rise of interdisciplinary achievements in nursing: The emergence of diverse interdisciplinary projects and achievements in the field of nursing; (2) Exploring the "Nursing +" innovative development model; (3) New fields, new progress; New technologies, new integration: Digital technology empowering nursing - precision nursing. Finally, Professor Shang Shaomei introduced the cultivation of innovative talents in nursing, using the projects of her research team as examples to detail the independent setting of "Nursing +" projects, which have become a driving force for the cultivation of innovative talents and have received widespread attention both at home and abroad.

She first expressed her gratitude to Professor Shang Shaomei for her wonderful lecture and to the enthusiastic participation and support of the universities in the alliance. She stated that this academic activity has deepened the understanding of the faculty and students of the universities in the alliance and the clinical teachers of the affiliated hospitals regarding interdisciplinary integration and innovative talent cultivation in nursing. At the same time, Professor Shang Shaomei's research on interdisciplinary development in geriatric nursing, smart health care, and symptom care has played a positive role in promoting the development of interdisciplinary research in China. Her experience has inspired the faculty and students to actively broaden their research horizons, strive for multidisciplinary cooperation, and actively explore the field of interdisciplinary integration and innovative talent cultivation in nursing, contributing the wisdom and strength of nursing professionals to the progress and development of the nursing discipline.
